The Butterfly..

A butterfly is a pretty,

Harmless insect which can fly.

        Butterflies are not quick,

        But their beauty gives us joy.

The chief beauty is their wings.

The fly from flower to flower in search of nectar.

        There are various kinds of butterflies,

        Of different colours and size.

The female butterfly lays eggs on leaves of plants.

After some days these eggs hatch into worms with lags.

They are caterpillars.

These caterpillers feed themselves on the leaves and  after a few weeks they make a covering fo it self called a cocoon. 

During warm weather the caterpiller bursts its cocoon and comes out as a beautiful butterfly.

          They add beauty to our environment.

          These butterflies are harmless,

          Therefore we too must not do any harm to them or try to catch and kill them..
