Mahathma Gandhi..

Mahathma gandhi is one of the greatest men of the century who has been admired by the whole world. He was born on octomber 2, 1869. Porbandar in gujarat india. He was known as the father of the nation. He was also called Bapu by all those who greatly loved him.

When mahathma gandhi was seven years old he went to school and he was an average student. After he completed his studies in college, his father advised him to go to England, for higher studies. He went there and then went to south africa. When he was there he found that his countrymen were suffering under the british laws. He returned to india and started this non violent movement against the british rulers. He was sent to jali many times. Many people from parts of the world followed him.

After a long struggle the british. Goverment finally granted independance to india in august, 1947. He was well known for his good qualities of honesty, kindness and devotion to religion.

He was a man who had much sympathy for the poor and needy. He showed the world the way to achieve one's goal in peace.

He was assinated in 1948, and  this was a very sad day for the people of india. He was rememberd as a symbol of modern india.
