The clock..

                      The clock is for measuring time. It tells us the time of the day. In the ancient days people had to watch the sun and the moon to know the time. A clock is a wonderful machine. A wound up spring moves a number of wheels. Some are cogged wheels.

                     This helps the two hands to move round the face or dial of the clock. The short hand is called the hour hand and other, the long hand is the minute hand. The dial is diveded into twelve equal portions. Each portion is one hour. In between each portion is devided in to five units. Each unit is one minite.

                          When the long hand goes through round the dial it makes one hour. Similary when the short hand goes round the dial it makes twelve hours. To make a day this short hand should travel twice round the dial. the clock is a very important article in our daily lives. It helps us to do everything in time and to spend the day in a punctual manner.
